Team Ratings The average rating for the team in the 2003-04 season was 5.99. The highest rating for a match was, perhaps unsurprisingly, for Man Utd at home (7.0) - a match which saw Wolves beat Man Utd (before it became popular). The lowest rated performance was for Villa at home in the league (4.6), a match which started a costly three match home losing run. The match in which Wolves' opposition got the highest rating was against Leeds away (7.3) which effectively sealed our fate. The lowest opposition rating (perhaps surprisingly) was Liverpool in their one-nil win over us at Anfield (5.6). Best PlayerMurray achieved the highest rating but this was only for one match (and one in which he let in five goals!) and so it is not deemed reliable. So the award for highest rated player goes to Rae. His rating would have been even higher if his final few appearances hadn't been as a sub due to his imminent departure to Rangers. Rae will certainly be missed from the middle of the Wolves midfield next season. GoalkeeperMurray was the highest rated keeper1, with Jones' rating of 6.4 just beating Oakes. DefenceOkoronkwo (6.2) was the highest rated defender, followed by Butler and Craddock (6.1). MidfieldRae was the highest rated midfielder, followed by Ince (6.5) and Andrews (6.3). AttackThe highest rated forward was Camara (6.5) whose rating was only just behind Rae. However Camara had a very variable season with his April rating of 7.4 contrasting starkly with his 5.3 rating in September. CupsWolves had a disappointing cup run with an overall team rating of 5.8. The highest rated players in the cups were Rae and Andrews (6.5). |
