A banana skin of a game against near neighbours is what the FA cup is about! From a neutral position - yes, but being a Wolves fan I'd have settled for something else.
The short trek along the A449 to visit Jan Molby's Kidderminster is not the most glamorous of ties, but as they are a struggling third division side, you would expect an easy victory. But as already stated this is the FA cup and this is Wolves so anything could happen. 10 years ago Kiddie beat Birmingham in the same round and so anything could happen!
This round last year saw Wolves win an epic victory over higher opposition and a humbling for "Baby Bellamy", so would this be our time to cry and point at our premiership badges.
Wolves started with some changes - some enforced. Butler was missing due to a virus, with Ince and Camara rested. They were replaced respectively by Clyde, Newton and Iversen, as Wolves tried to go 4-4-2.
The game played in cold drizzle started with Kiddie taking the game to Wolves, although for all of their neat passing and endeavours they were unable to get any sort of shot on target. With Henriksen putting one shot into the car park. Wolves for their part seemed to be half asleep and just allowed Kiddie to come at them without breaking into too much sweat. Wolves did have some attempts on goal, but only a Kennedy shot and a deflected Cameron effort.

The second half was played out similar to the first with Kiddie trying the harder and having just about the majority of play, with Wolves content to sit back and have "purple patches " of ten minutes or so. The game at times almost unwatchable with clouds of steam billowing over the ground from the nearby Severn Valley Railway. Miller was replaced by the Romanian Vio, however the game changed with 15 mins to go with J Williams coming on as a substitute for Kiddie. He worried Wolves from the very beginning and took only three mins to put the ball into the net. Williams ran onto a long hoof and rounded Oakes who was some twenty yards out of his box, but his cross was headed out. The resulting corner saw the ball pinball about inside the box only to fall to Williams who smashed it into the back of the net. Kidderminster 1 Wolves 0 Kennedy was immediately replaced by Silas as Wolves tried to ensure this would not be an embarrassing day.
Wolves huffed and puffed as they upped a gear, Rae put a freekick well over the bar, whilst silky skills from Silas saw him create an opening, only for his shot to be akin to something Camara would do! With only a minute of normal time remaining Rae spared our blushes yet again. A Cameron cross cum shot was intercepted by Rae who turned and buried the ball into the back of the net. Kidderminster 1 Wolves 1
Deep into injury time Wolves had a chance to wrap it up as Vio latched onto a clearance but should really have done better with his effort.
In truth Wolves didn't deserve this result and didn't play well at all, but now have another opportunity to sort it out in a couple of weeks. The money generated will help so maybe it can be used to buy additional players. The acceptance now by DJ that "a number 2" was needed and now brought on board may well help in the training ground. Lets hope we don't get the Arsenal away in the next round - if we can beat Kiddie at home!
