Match Report by Deck Shoe Wolf

If ever a game summed up Wolves season that this was it. A combination of bad luck, poor individual mistakes and above all a shocking ref again left battling Wolves empty handed.

Fresh from the city of manchester stadium disappointment Wolves again suffered a last minute heartbreak at the hands of a bunch of Cocky Northerners.

Beleaguered boss DJ brought in Irwin for the injured Clyde but stuck with the front pairing of Camara and Cort both of whom put in great performances against City just days before.

Dudley born Bolton boss Sam Allaydice rested Okacha and Djorkaeff as Bolton arrived at Molineux in a negative mood.

Within minutes of kick off ref Uriah Rennie infuriated the home support and even left Bolton fans scratching their heads when he arrogantly waved away Kennedy's penalty appeal. The Irish winger played a superb 1, 2 with Naylor before racing into the box. Stelios clearly tripped the Wolves winger with Rennie close by but the Official waved play on. A shocking decision even by the premier league's poor standards. Molineux was transformed into a Cauldron of noise most of it being vented towards Rennie.

With Wolves more desperate for a win it was understandable that the more attacking play came from the home side.

Bolton's 5 man midfield put a fairly stiff resistance and along with some blatant time wasting frustrated Wolves at every opportunity. Cameron found space for a shot just inside the area but Jaaskelainen tipped the ball away brilliantly.

With just 3 minutes left of the first half Bolton took the lead. Pederson headed past Jones from Campo's cross Wolves 0 Bolton 1.

With many disgruntled fans heading for a half time pint Wolves drew level. The tenacious Ince chipped the ball to Camara on the edge of the area. The wayward striker made it 4 goals in 4 games by lashing the ball into the top corner. Wolves 1 Bolton 1

The second half again showed Wolves have fight but no luck as Rennie turned down another 2 penalty appeals. Jaaskelainens rash challenge on Butler again had the crowd on it's feet but once again Rennie saw different.

DJ threw on Miller for Irwin as Wolves chased the elusive goal. With time running out Cort nodded the ball down to Miller, but the Scot was unable to escape the clutches of Thome. According to Mr Rennie bear hugs are fine nowadays. (No wonder the Sun Newspaper gave him 0/10 on their report).

Deep into injury time Bolton grabbed the winner. Naylor lost the ball on the left, Davies seized control sprinted forward and beat Jones with a low drive. Wolves 1 Bolton 2 Another dreadful mistake by the hapless fullback. It was all too much for one fan who ran out onto the pitch to confront ref Rennie.

The final whistle was met by ugly scenes as Bolton players ignored the stewards and celebrated their victory infront of the south bank. Police had to intervene as Wolves fans reacted by trying to get into the Bolton end.

A sad way to almost certainly confirm relegation to Division 1. Wolves have been desperately unlucky over the Easter period but in truth the cracks started to appear long before the eggs came out.
