I honestly thought that when Proudlock got his first goal that the floodgates would open, but in no way did I think that it would be in the same game. Least of all this one. Like most fans, I thought that this might be the game when the wheels came off our unbeaten run. Bradford started brightly, but the first notable attempt on goal was when Kennedy had a well taken free kick well saved by their goal keeper. This was matched by a great save by Oakes from an Ashley Ward shot. The match was pretty evenly balanced with Bradford looking dangerous on the break, but Wolves making most of the play. Then, just before half time the ball was given away to Robinson on the half way line. He fed the ball to Blake who sent his marker the wrong way and let fly an excellent shot which nearly crept underneath the goal keeper. Unfortunately the goalie manged to knock the ball away, but fortunately it fell to Proudlock who had an easy tap in to an empty net. Blake had done all the hard work, but Proudlock was in the right place at the right time to get his first goal of the season. Half time and 1-0 to Wolves. Early in the second half Carbone benefitted from a defensive error to send in a great shot, which Oakes saved well. Although it was a bad tempered clash and the referee did seem really clueless we were turning in another solid, hard working performance. I noticed both Newton and Naylor making last ditch saving tackles, but make no mistake this was another team performance. Then with about quarter of an hour to go a long ball into the Bradford box was cleared only as far as Cameron whose shot was deflected (accidentally?) by Proudlock, sending the goal keeper the wrong way. Then, more or less straight away the icing on the cake - a Proudlock hat-trick. Kennedy picked the ball up on the half way line and headed down the right wing, where he laid the ball off to Newton whose pinpoint cross split the defence, beat the goal keeper and provided Proudlock with his third of the match. Our third 3-0 away win, our fifth win on the trot, can this really be happening?
