The omens were all there for us - a terrible home record - a match against Palace (one of our many bogey teams) - and Wolves' patented ability to fall apart when things look like they are just about to go for us. And so it all transpired. Palace started brightly - although it was surprisingly ex-Wolves player Freedman rather than alleged ex-Wolves target Morrison who was the brighter. He had a few early shots and although we had a few half chances, the best early chance fell to Morrison who with what looked like only Oakes to beat fell over. Perhaps he was looking for a foul - with this ref I am surprised he didn't get it, even though no one was anywhere near him. And it was from yet another Palace free kick - given for nothing - that they got their goal. The free kick was only partially cleared and Kirovski hit a great shot from just outside the area which flew into the top corner. Just on the stroke of half time - just what we needed. Wolves showed much more spirit in the second half and we carved Palace open on more on what occassion. Proudlock went close on a couple of occassions and Kennedy missed with an overhead kick. Branch came on and - as normal - looked bright but never looked like he'd score. That seems to sum up what Wolves are at home at the moment. Cameron and Rae both had shots saved or blocked and Blake and Butler both missed with headers. Right near the end Freedman hit the post for Palace just to show how it is done. We did dominate the second half, but crosses don't win matches so Palace moved above us on goal difference. I'm not sure what the missing ingredient is, but lets face it second in the league isn't a bad place to be is it? Lets have some faith, eh?
