I am writing to voice my concern regarding the recent interest shown by Dave Jones in re-signing Ade Akinbyi. During his time at Wolves his confidence can at best be described as fragile, now it is safe to say it is nonexistent. I have nothing against the player personally - he always gave 100% for Wolves - he just rarely shows the ability to match the millions paid out for him. It could be argued that he had a fairly decent goal record during his spell at molineux, finishing the 99-2000 season with 16 goals (no player in a gold shirt has looked like getting near that total this season). With that contribution, and a healthy £2 million profit in the bank, Wolves should wash their hands of the whole matter. At the moment Leicester City can't see Akinbyi providing them with such double figure goal tallys and six figure profit margins. In selling him they would at least get a useful £3 million cheque, Akinbyi would get another big signing-on fee and Wolves would be left with an expensive and unpredictable gamble. For once I would ask Dave Jones to re-think and let Sir Jack keep the purse strings tied for just a little while longer.
